Recycling and
Rubbish
Please participate in our recycling programme by recycling separated glass and cartons in recycling containers at the Waste Transfer Station near the entrance at the end of Forest Drive.
Please always use bin liner bags for your household waste and never throw loose items directly into the bins. If loose items are left in the bins upon departure, an extra cleaning fee will be deducted from your deposit fee.
Rubbish bins are collected on Fridays only (early in the morning by 8am), unless otherwise communicated. Please do not leave your rubbish bags in the open. Secure the lid with a hook or strap to prevent from being opened by baboons and drag it to the side of the road. Click here for Nature's Valley's baboon guidelines.

Should your bins reach capacity before collection day, please deposit your household waste at the Waste Transfer Station.
Please drop your recyclables and/or household waste at the Waste Transfer Station upon departure. If you are unable to do this, please contact NVH to arrange collection
Drains and Sewage Septic Tanks
Please avoid washing fat, food scraps, coffee grinds and other food items down the kitchen drain. Please wipe excessive fat from pots, pans and plates and deposit into the rubbish bin before washing the dishes.
Most of the houses in Nature’s Valley make use of a septic tank disposable system. Please do not flush any cigarette butts, paper towels, wipes, feminine hygiene products, latex rubber, disposable diapers, and anything plastic or similar non-biodegradables into a septic tank system. It is recommended to use single-ply toilet paper to avoid any blockages.
Should the sewage disposal system be blocked with an overflow, please contact us immediately to arrange for a Honey Sucker to clear the sewage drain. In cases of emergency and should you not be able to get hold of us immediately, please contact Bitou Customer Care on 044 501 3028.
Upon Departure
When you check-out, please make sure all the windows are shut and please switch off the geyser and all the lights. Leave the keys as per prior arrangement with NVH.
Please note: An extra cleaning fee will be charged if the house is left in an excessive dirty state, i.e. pile of dishes with heavily soiled pots, pans, gas braai grids, dirty oven and or if no bin bags were used for the rubbish bins. Please try to leave the house in a respectable manner as if it is your own. Please contact NVH should you require assistance with a cleaner.
